weighing 55 tons, Chase Studio can create animals in resin and bronze of startling realism and accuracy. Prototypes are usually sculpted in clay or wax over an armature of wood, welded steel, or urethane foam.

Most fish, reptiles and amphibians are cast in plastics such as urethanes, polyester, or epoxy because these materials are more permanent than taxidermy or freeze-dry specimens, and the finished models look more realistic.
