Environmental education has always been the primary mission of Chase Studio. In 1998, Terry Chase set up a nonprofit, educational organization (501c-3), The Ozark Museum of Natural History, with the ultimate goal of establishing a prominent natural history museum in the Ozarks.
Plans are currently being developed for the museum which includes over 87,000 ft² of exhibit space, a ten acre arboretum, a six story repository for scientific collections, a nature center, and a 1,200 acre biological field station in partnership with Missouri State University.
The field station will be located on the studio property and includes dormitories, classrooms, and food service. In addition, Terry Chase is collaborating with the university to develop a Master's Degree program in the museum sciences.
